Frequently Asked Questions
How do electric bikes work?
All our electric bicycles are powered by a lithium ion battery that runs an electric motor either as a crank drive or as part of the wheel hub. You engage the motor simply by pedaling. You have full control of how much or little power assistance you want.
How far can I go?
It depends on a number of factors, such as battery size, the weight of the rider, the terrain, winds and the amount of assistance you choose. Larger capacity batteries are available as an optional upgrade on some electric bicycles.
Are electric bikes safe?
Absolutely! Electric bikes are as safe to ride as a regular bike. When you need to stop or slow down, all you need do is apply the brakes and release the hand throttle (available on some models) or stop pedaling to cut the power. All electric bicycles supplied by the Green Wheelers Electric Bike Company are built to the highest quality and meet EU and UK standards and regulations.
Do I need to test ride an electric bike?
We highly recommend you test ride electric bicycles before you make your mind up, so book a test ride with us.
