Laxey and the Great Laxey Waterwheel

Laxey and the Great Laxey Waterwheel

This route takes you north along Douglas promenade and up onto the coast road travelling out of Onchan to Groudle Glen, featuring a miniature railway, through the hamlet of Baldrine to Laxey famous for the largest working waterwheel constructed over 150 years ago. The route back via Glen Roy is on quiet narrow country roads, eventually arriving at the Creg ny Baa pub on the TT course – a good place to stop for a quick bite before returning to Douglas.
